Explore the region on foot via well-marked hiking trails – from short loops to full-day treks through forests, past chapels and scenic viewpoints. Themed routes like the Wall of Geraardsbergen and the Muziekbos are highly recommended.
For cyclists, the area offers iconic climbs such as the Koppenberg and Oude Kwaremont, as well as peaceful network routes for leisure riders and e-bikers. Mountain bikers and families will also find what they’re looking for, with challenging trails and flat paths along the Scheldt and Zwalm rivers.
Our grandfather has also mapped out several cycling and walking routes starting from our farmhouse. These carefully curated trails offer a unique perspective on the region, with attention to nature, heritage and peaceful resting spots along the way. Perfect for those who love to explore locally, away from the crowds.
In the Flemish Ardennes, you can also enjoy art walks, taste local beers, or go on adventurous kayaking and climbing experiences at The Outsider in Oudenaarde.

We currently still live in Brasschaat and work together in the Port of Antwerp in the chemical industry.
In August 2024, we fell in love with this heritage farmhouse – a place with a rich history, but also in decline. Yet we immediately saw its enormous potential. The charm of the building, the tranquility of the surroundings, and the power of its heritage sparked our imagination.
After eight months of hard work – with respect for the building’s authenticity and attention to comfort – we opened the doors of our holiday home at the end of April 2025. Since then, we’ve welcomed guests who, like us, enjoy the Flemish Ardennes.
Hikers, cyclists, mountain bikers, and other outdoor enthusiasts will find the perfect base here. Think of vast nature reserves, picturesque routes, and sporty challenges nearby. Whether you enjoy a peaceful morning walk, a long bike ride, or adventurous water sports – it’s all possible here.
But our story doesn’t end here. In the future, we plan to transform the other barns on the property into a charming B&B, so even more people can enjoy this special place.

Our heritage farmhouse is a place with a story – and that story continues to grow every day. In the near future, we plan to transform the old, dilapidated barns on the property into a charming B&B with five comfortable bedrooms and a cosy dining area where we’ll treat our guests to delicious meals.
We’re very excited to take this next step, but we do so with great respect for the peace of our guests. That’s why our holiday home is only available when no construction work is taking place. This way, we guarantee a relaxing stay without any disturbance.
